Out now! Latest scientific work, entitled “Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound increases neurotrophic factors secretion and suppresses inflammation in vitro models of peripheral neuropathies,” born of the collaboration between Regenerative Technologies Lab (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna – Istituto di Biorobotica – Pisa) and Bac Technology , has been published in the Journal of Neural Engineering. This paper was authored by Francesco Fontana, Francesco Iacoponi, Fabio Orlando, Tiziano Pratellesi, Andrea Cafarelli, Leonardo Ricotti .
This study demonstrates the beneficial effects of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) stimulation on Schwann cells and macrophages, paving the way for future treatments for neuropathic pain and nerve regeneration.
